Yevgeny "Jack" berner - Actor, executive producer

Yevgeny Berner and his parents immigrated to the United States as refugees from Southwest Ukraine (then part of the former Soviet Union, and Romania/Transylvania before it) in the late 1970s to escape communist oppression and religious persecution. Although drama/acting was a first love and passion for Yevgeny in the U.S. including in college at the University of Washington, Yevgeny (aka "Jack", translated from his Ukrainian nickname "Djecka"), pursued the legal profession with vigor hoping to establish a name for himself as a first generation immigrant with all the responsibility that comes with that. He has worked in the legal field since the age of 16, including the last 24 years as a prominent trial attorney in the Pacific Northwest, along with some theater work over the years. Jack's mother, Hanna, passed away too soon from breast cancer in late 2022, having fought the battle for half of her life. She had always wanted to be an actress herself, having been inspired by her idol and physical twin (long lost relative?) Sophia Loren, but never had a chance to do so, including due to her cancer battle. Jack took up the acting mantle with a renewed fury partly to honor his late mom. Jack has been in 14 feature films to date—many as a lead actor. He has also Executive Produced a number of films. Jack has a particular affinity for playing antagonists and shady characters. Jack is also involved in social activism and philanthropy, particularly on behalf of pro-Ukraine relief organizations, and speaks fluent Russian, among other languages.
